On Saturday, with temps cresting near 60 degrees, I took everything out of the garage, swept it out, washed my car, put the patio furniture out and was stopped by my daughter on my way to a nursery to pick out some pansies for the front porch planters. Maybe wait a few months, mom, she said, before asking me if I had checked the weather.
And here we are, two days later, with plowable snow outside.
LOL!
This, folks, is Maine spring in a nutshell. A stutter-start to eventual full-on summer marked by snow and rain showers, mushy lawns and mud, and soon the reemergence of plants pushing through the ground to delight us with fresh green and pops of color. Can't wait! Clearly!
For now, I'll go retrieve my rocking chair that tumbled off the porch in the wind and down the sloping side yard. And resume pinning landscape ideas on Pinterest until the ground clears. Again.
